Because of the efficiencies of electronic filing, some payers pay Clearinghouses for offering electronic claims services to providers, these are considered our free claims and we choose to offer the claims for these payers to providers and billing agents at no cost. There are Payers who do not pay to receive electronics claims, such as Medicare, and some Commercial Payers and we will charge these non-free claims at $0.15 per claim to the provider or billing agent. Medicaid claims are charged $0.32 per claim. Our payer list will identify free and non-free claims.
